Healthcare

 

1. What should we do about the funding of social security or should we leave it as is?

2.  How should we reform welfare to prevent exploitation of the system?

3.  Would you support a government-controlled universal health care?

 

 

Economy

 

1.  Do you think there is a need for an amendment to balance the federal budget?

2.  Do you believe in George Bush’s money payments as a way to stimulate the economy?

3.  Do you support the marriage penalty in our tax code?

 

Environment

 

1.  Is global warming a concern for your administration?  How will you deal with it?

2.  Do you support removing dams that may threaten wild fish populations?

3.  How will your administration handle the logging of forests on public lands?

4.  Should the U.S. drill oil in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge?

 

Military/Defense

 

1.  What is your interpretation of the 2nd amendment to the U.S. constitution that grants Americans the right “to keep and bear arms”?

2.  What regulations, if any, should be put on the sale of guns in the U.S.?

3.  Should we change the amount of money spent to sustain our military/ technology?  How?

 

Education

 

1.  DO you support President Bush’s No Child Left Behind Act.  If not, how do you propose to change it?

 

 

 

Questions from the audience will be taken as long as time permits.

 

Each candidate will have two minutes at the end for closing remarks.

 

Rules for the debate/forum.

1.  No answer to a question can exceed two minutes.

2.  Rubuttals to an answer are limited to one minute.

3.  Closing remarks by each candidate are limited to two minutes.

4.  Candidates will dress up-it is part of your grade.

5.  Candidates will answer only questions addressed to them.  Both the president and vice president will have to answer at least one question.
