portion. Read through the page slowly (chapter 2 of your text
will also cover this material but in my opinion not as well).
After reading the material summarize how a neuron works.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of
the screen and click on Back to: exploring the nervous
system. Click on the
brain basics link. Then
click on our divided brain: lobes of the brain.
Read through the information on the page.
a) what is the difference
between a sulci and gyri?
b) List the lobes of the
brain and give a brief description of what each does.
c) Use the brain
on the following page to label the different lobes of the
brain.
3. Now go to
http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/java/ready.html and take
the test.
a) Once the words appear on
the screen, read (out loud) the COLORS, not the WORDS.
b) Click "Finish"when you're
done and write down the time.

experiment" and do it again

5. Finally go to

of the articles that looks interesting to you. Tell me which one
you're doing (so there are no duplicates), read it, and be prepared
to summarize its contents. I will ask you to report to the class
