Help Wanted in the New World!

You are the head administrator of an exploration group or new colony in the Americas, and you need some people to work for you. A local school has allowed you to recruit from its students. You must present information concerning your venture and try to convince students to join you on the high seas!

Your task will be to present the following:

  • A poster picturing the fantastic opportunity you are offering them
  • A 15-20 minute presentation containing the following information:
    • Where they will be working
    • What year that work will be starting
    • Why the job is available
    • What you want them to accomplish on the job
  • A brochure (1 per student in the class) containing notes on the above information
  • Anything 'extra' that will enhance the presentation

Grading

  • You will be graded according to the following rubric.
  • Each person will vote as to which job they would 'take' based on the presentations. The group with the most votes will receive 5 points extra credit.
  • This is worth 40 points (similar to a test grade)
